Stephen Batta is Senior Vice President, Operations, of MCR. In this role, Mr. Batta leads the operations for all of MCR’s independent full-service hotels across the country, including the 60-room The High Line Hotel in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and the 512-room TWA Hotel at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport opening in spring 2019.
Prior to joining MCR in 2018, Mr. Batta served as the General Manager of the 1,780-room Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, the luxury JW Marriott Essex House New York and the Renaissance New York Hotel. Previously, he was the Assistant General Manager of the New York Marriott Downtown. Earlier in his career, he was the Director of Food and Beverage at the New York Marriott Marquis, the former JW Marriott Rihga Royal New York, the Seaview Marriott Golf Resort and Fairway Villa in New Jersey and the Sheraton Manhattan Hotel.
A leader in New York City’s hotel industry, Mr. Batta is the Secretary of the Hotel Association of New York City, where he chairs the finance committee and is a member of the audit and nominating committees. He also serves as a Trustee for the New York Hotel Trades Council & Hotel Association of New York City, Inc. Employee Benefit Funds. In addition, he is the President of Les Amis d’Escoffier Society Foundation Inc., a nonprofit that provides scholarships for culinary arts students, and Vice President of Inside Broadway, a New York City-based children’s theater company. Previously, Mr. Batta was appointed to Marriott’s General Manager Advisory Council and chaired Marriott’s New York Business Council. He was also the Vice President of the Food & Beverage Association of New York and a member of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE).
Mr. Batta received a B.S. in Business Marketing from Marist College. He lives in Freehold, New Jersey, with his wife and three children.
