On the Town

On the TownWhat do you get when three Navy Sailors are on 24 hour shore leave in New York City?

The rip-roaring Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden and Adolph Green classic Broadway musical On The Town

Inside Broadway, the company that produced last year’s acclaimed production of Kiss Me, Kate and Smokey Joe’s Café is proud to bring to New York’s City’s public school students On The Town, A Broadway Valentine to New York City.

Three heroic sailors, Chip, Ozzie, and Gabby are visiting New York City for the first time.  Their busy day starts as they depart their ship docked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, ready to take in everything this wonderful city has to offer.  During their hectic day our young sailors travel to Central Park, Times Square, Museum of Natural History, Coney Island and many other city landmarks.  Their goal is to track down the beautiful Miss Turnstile, Ivy Smith who keeps eluding them.  Of course a happy ending is in store for our sailors but not before they have some incredible zany adventures in the city.

Written in the 1940’s this show has been specially adapted and updated for New York City’s youth.  Songs included in this musical are I Can Cook Too, Lonely Town, and New York, New York.

Don’t miss the boat!  The school tour starts in April!!
